Fire Service trains 3,500 fire volunteers

New Edubiase (Ash), Jan 05, GNA - About 3,500 fire volunteers had been trained in 131 communities in the Adansi South District to fight bush fires during the dry season.

Mr Osei Bonsu, Adansi South District Fire Officer, said the target of his outfit was to train about 4,000 fire volunteers. He said the training of the fire volunteers formed part of the district assembly's anti-bush fire campaign.

Mr Bonsu appealed to the volunteers to comport themselves well and appealed to the political parties to educate their members on the need to prevent bush fires.
