Listen to article

The Central Regional House of Chiefs has called on President J. A. Kufuor to work tirelessly to reconcile the nation, which has been polarised by the election campaigns.

A congratulatory message signed by the President of the House, Nana Kwamena Ansah, said, “With the elections over, Nananom humbly entreat Your Excellency, as the father to work assiduously to reconcile the nation which was polarised during the campaign period for the good of mother Ghana.”

It said the healthy challenge that was put up by all the political parties was victory for democracy in the country.

“The House also recognises the healthy challenge that was offered by all opposing parties to make true democracy an ingredient of good governance,” the message said and congratulated them on their efforts.

It also congratulated the President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) particularly, on its resounding win in the presidential and parliamentary elections in the region, adding that “the House wishes to assure you and your government of its unflinching support during the period of your presidency.”
