Armed robbery attacks Techiman Municipal Assembly warehouse

Techiman (B/A), Dec. 24 GNA - Some unidentified armed robbers have attacked the warehouse of the Techiman Municipal Assembly, injuring the night watchman on duty.

The watchman, Cosmos Mugulu sustained various degrees of injuries on the right-hand and head after a heavy battle with the robbers. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital, where he was rushed to and had been receiving medical attention, Mr Cosmos Mugulu said, at about 1530 hours on Tuesday, the robbers numbering about five in masks approached him and demanded the keys of the warehouse at the Wa Lorry Station in the Techiman Central Market.

According to Mr Mugulu, when he refused to offer the keys a surprise knock came from behind him, that sent him down but he also managed to give a reply to one of them who was on sight.

When he started shouting for help they fled without taking anything from the warehouse.

Chief Inspector Nicholas Azameti, Techiman Municipal Station Officer who, confirmed the reported incidence to the Ghana News Agency said no arrest has been made so far.

He said the victim, who had his right-hand dislocated has been discharged from the hospital and was seeking for herbal treatment, whilst the Police were investigating.

This is the third time robbers have made attacks on the warehouse at the Wa Lorry Station.
