Kumasi, Dec 22, GNA - Mr Benjamin Anane-Nsiah, acting Ashanti Regional Manager of the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB), has appealed to youth groups and organisations in the region to incorporate tourism in their programmes.

This, he said, would enable members to become stakeholders in the development of tourism.

Mr Anane-Nsiah was speaking at the inauguration of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Association of Tourist Clubs in Kumasi on Tuesday.

He said the culture of people travelling around and looking at places of interest was not well developed and it was therefore important to get it institutionalised in the country and the best way to do it was to build it around existing groups.

The acting Regional Manager said the board was committed to encourage such groups and associations and to facilitate their movements both internationally and locally.

He said there was the need for the association to strengthen its club members and encourage them to be interested in developing careers in tourism.
