Aflao (V/R), Dec. 14, GNA - An Akatsi-based tailor, who grew angry at his 16-year old son for not completing the household chores assigned him by his step mother and beat him mercilessly leading to his death, has been charged with murder.

Thomas Klutse, 44, whose plea was not taken, was remanded by a circuit court at Aflao until December 20.

Police Chief Inspector Pius Cudjoe told the court presided over by Mr. Godwinn Kwasi-Kumah that Klutse lived at Akatsi with his new wife and his son Edem Klutse, whose mother the accused had long divorced. He said on Friday December 3, this year, the accused person's new wife complained to him on his return home after work that the deceased failed to complete the day's household chores and the accused raging with anger as a result repeatedly slapped the deceased and he fell down. Chief Inspector Kudjoe said the accused, unsatisfied, stamped the lower abdomen of the deceased a number of times, leaving him groaning in pains.

He said the deceased managed to report the incident to his grand mother who rushed him to the Horga Clinic at Akatsi, where he remained on admission as his condition continued to deteriorate until Monday, December 6, this year, when he died.

The body had been transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy. GNA GA
