The Management and employees of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine have held a Thanksgiving Service to show their appreciation to God for a successful year in 2015. Organized under the theme “If the lord had not been on our side”, this year’s Thanksgiving Service was the fourteenth- in- the- series.

Also in attendance were youth choirs who led participants to praise and worship God for his protection.

Addressing the audience, the Managing Director of the Mine, Sicelo Ntuli attributed strides made by the mine to the grace of God. He noted that although the Mine was confronted with some challenges, through measures put in place the Mine was able to manage them by the help of God. Mr. Ntuli said there was the need to invest in the youth as way of improving human capital to enable them become future leaders of society.

Delivering the sermon, the Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Tarkwa, Apostle Dr S.K Baidoo urged all especially those in leadership to live up to God’s expectation of humanity – to be useful to others. Apostle Dr S.K. Baidoo implored chiefs in mining communities to manage resources that God has blessed them with especially land and guard the youth to make contributions that will encourage the presence of mining companies.

He commended the Iduapriem Mine for its local Economic Development initiatives.

The AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine’s Non-Denominational thanksgiving service is a reflection of management’s recognition of God’s power and His authority of all activities of the mine. This years’ service was represented by the Clergy, Government officials, Sister mining companies, Stakeholders and employees.
