Nkawie (Ash), Dec. 4, GNA - The Special Voting in the Atwima-Nwabiagya and Atwima-Mponua Constituencies, all in Ashanti, started smoothly without any hitches.

At the Nkawie Fire Service Polling Station, about 104 security personnel, elections officials and some observers cast their vote by 1000 hours.

At Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua Constituency, 50 special voters had cast their votes by 1000 hours.

Unlike Atwima-Nwabiagya Constituency, where only New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) polling agents were present at the polling station, all the three parties contesting the parliamentary seat, namely NDC, NPP and Convention People's Party (CPP) had their polling agents at the polling station.

Meanwhile, the Atwima-Mponua District Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) has organized a day's workshop for political party agents on the need to ensure violence-free, fair and transparent elections next Tuesday. The People's National Convention (PNC), CPP, NDC and NPP party agents attended the workshop and Mr Yaw Antwi Afoakwa, the Deputy Returning Officer, who addressed them advised the polling agents to comport themselves during and after the elections.

He also impressed upon them the need to sign all documents to avoid any unpleasant consequences and told them not to take in any alcohol before coming to the polling stations.
