Tamale, Nov. 18, GNA - Two second half goals scored by Real Tamale United's (RTU) goal poacher, centre forward Alhassan Weah was all that the "Pride of the North" needed to send visiting Brong Ahafo United on their way to relegation in the GT Premiership league match at the Tamale Kaladan Park on Wednesday.

Weah scored both goals in the 51st and 55th minutes o seal the doom of the visitors.

RTU started the game in a lackadaisical manner at the initial stages but later warmed up as the game progressed. The over elaboration and antics by the attackers of RTU in the visitors goal area denied them of an early goal.

In the ninth minute, Weah sent a neat pass to inside right Soale Akwasi but the defenders of B/A covered up to clear the ball before the attacker could shoot at goal.

Weah and Baba Mumuni followed up with their near misses in the 10th and 12th minutes as they unbelievably blew away clear goal-scoring chances.

RTU created a lot of good chances but the attackers on several occassions delayed to shoot at goal allowed the B/A defence to clear the balls to safety to end the first half goalless.

Back from the recess, RTU raised the tempo of their game and continued to pile pressure on their opponents and their top marksman, Weah who was policed throughout the first half atoned for his misses when he took on three B/A United defenders in a dribbling spree before sending the ball into the far corner of the net to register RTU's first goal in the 51st minute.

The goal seemed to ginger up the spirit in the RTU lads and brought some life to the game as the home supporters cheered them on. It therefore came as no surprise when a defender of B/A United was forced to bring down an RTU attacker outside the 18-yard box in the 55th minute.

Referee Yansa Nyaarku Mula from Ashanti Mampong did not hesitate to award RTU a free kick and which Weah expertly delivered a curling ball straight into the net to increase RTU's tally to two. It was an all RTU affair from then on but good goal keeping by the B/A United goalie, Samuel Quansah who stood firm managed to put a stop to all their efforts at goal.

B.A United however, on some occasions tried to make inroads with an opportunity falling the way of inside left, Bomfe Daniel who for once outwitted the RTU defenders but their goalie, Mohammed Habib was on hand to deny him the chance of scoring. During recess, Professor Wayo Seini, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Tamale South constituency presented 20 balls to the Club for their excellent performance in recent times.
