Nakolo (UE), Jan 11, GNA - The Nakolo Students Union (NASU), has appealed to the Government, Non-Governmental Organizations and Philanthropists to help provide the community with educational infrastructure.

Master Anthony Adatu, President of the Union, who made the call during the second homecoming durbar, organized by the NASU at Nakola, said the only Junior High School structure in the area is broken down.

He said as a Student Union, they have not been able to mobilize enough resources for the completion of a modern library with ICT facilities for the Community they initiated sometime back, and appealed for help to complete the structure, which is at the window level.

He said the Union which was formed in 2009 as a non-partisan youth association with the sole aim of promoting unity and development at Nakolo and its surroundings like: Banyono, Boania, Tazika and Kuliya, however, the absence of certain educational amenities in the area have always made this dream remain a mirage.

It is therefore not surprising that members of this Association have taken it upon themselves to organize extra classes anytime students were on holidays despite the unavailability of certain teaching and learning materials,' Mr Adatu said.

Anthony Togiyigah Ake, Assemblyman for Nakolo, appealed to the government to help construct a dam for the Community, which is predominantly a peasant farming community to enable them to do dry season farming and rearing of animals.
