An Open Letter To God; My Top 3 New Year's Resolutions
31.12.2015 LISTEN

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).

Oh God Almighty, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; I, your dear son, am still doing wonders with my gift at age 19 - it's just by your heavenly grace! Today, December 31, 2015, marks the New Year's eve and as a Christian adherent, I deem it a sacred honour to say a solemn prayer to my God. Gracious Father, I take cognizance of the pure fact that I am only flesh and blood - a mortal - and I may be unable to stick to my New Year's resolutions. Yet in the name of Jesus, through the grace of Christ and by my unwavering faith, I humbly petition you to lubricate my long walk to my Promise Land in the coming year!

And I hereby outline my top 3 New Year's resolutions in a comprehensive form so that you kindly make them a huge success for me. Lord! I thank you for the seed of gift - writing - you planted in me so that I can exploit it to your glory and to the service of humanity. Yea, my mission statement is made more explicit in synchronisation with your perfect will: "My mission is to meet the knowledge needs of our society." Surely, the fullness of my success is guaranteed to unfold as long as I go by the book regarding your ways to success, prosperity and joy!

My top New Year's resolutions are as follow:

(1) Living a good life-cum-building a strong Christian life:

Elohim, I come boldy to the throne of grace, that I may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16)! For my fallibility as a homo sapien hindered my renewed spirit in Christ from living right, as divinely expected of me. Oh did I overlook Kwame Nkrumah's words? When he declared that, "Nothing on earth can be done if it has not the purpose and support of God."

Therefore, Adonai, please blot out my iniquities as I forgive all those who wronged me throughout the year and even in past years. Heavenly Father, strengthen my Christian soul with your mighty power to live a good life and build a strong Christian life, all in 2016! For I acknowledge the fact that, as a Christian, this is a spiritual requisite for success.

(2) Advancing my potential by leaps and bounds, and possibly breaking through the mainstream writing fraternity:

I pray that I reach near dizzy heights in the world of writing in my 20th year of life. Like seriously? I am committed to capitalising on available resources and existing technologies, so that I perfect my writing since I am a perfectionist! In 2016, I shall break through the mainstream writing fraternity in any way, small or big, with the help of my branding, efficiency, hard work, links, innovation, patience, excellence and more - all in outstanding proportions.

The inspiration of Donovan Mailey, a retired Canadian sprinter, has galvanised me into positive action. For he proclaimed that, "Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard and sacrifice, and above all, don't let anyone limit your dreams." Besides, 2016 will certainly be my year of breakthrough, little or great, from the Lord. Well, I faithfully abide by Bill Cosby's quote: "In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure."

(3) Launching and starting my own firm at age 20 - it will fall exactly on my birthday, September 11:

Ha-ha, I know you are probably dumbfounded by this remarkable revelation of mine. Okay, upon profound reflection and painstaking meditation, I have now planned to venture into the real world of work with my talent of writing. I know it will definitely be a herculean task - never a rose without thorns - yet I have empowered my spirit, soul and body. For I will pursue my inalienable passion, writing, with a great deal of business. Look! Passion is my capital to start the firm.

It is more than possible, dear friends! For I am highly inspired by the humble beginnings of the late Steve Jobs, one of America's entrepreneurial greats ever. "At age 20 [practically, at age 21], Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started a company in a garage on April 1, 1976 after Steve saw a computer Wozniak designed for himself," according to www.1000ventures.com. Finally, I will successfully follow suit by the grace of the Almighty God.

We thank God for a prosperous year. May the year 2016 be the year of breakthrough, prosperity and peace!
