Adamborobe (E/R), Dec. 19, GNA - The Adamborobe Youth Association in the South Akuapem District is calling on the office of the President to intervene and resolve amicably the impasse surrounding the geographical location of the district.

The Association said Mr Obed B. Amoah, Member of Parliament is claiming that the Adamorobeasi is part of his electoral area while Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Greater Accra Regional Minister also claiming that the area is part of the Kpone Katamanso District.

The Association says these developments have thrown the community into a state of confusion as to which district the Adamorobe township belongs.

Mr Joseph Okyere, Spokesperson for the Association at a news conference said Adamorobe is a small town, traditionally under Akuapen South District and geographically has Aburi to its North, Bawaleshi on the East, Amanhia and Danfa on the West and Oyibi on the South.

He said the Jackson Commission in 1957 stated that the Adamborobe is part of the Akuapem South District and that anybody that thinks otherwise must prove it.

Mr Okyere noted that in recent times, the Kpone Katamanso District Assembly has erected their bill boards in the town and tried to collect revenue from the area.

He said it is a recipe for violence.
He said due to the estrangement, there has been no single socio-infrastructural development in the area for the past four years.

The youth are therefore calling on the office of the President to investigate the issue and rectify the anomaly to ensure peace.
