Paga (UER), Nov. 7, GNA - Mr Abuga Pele, the Member of Parliament for the Chiana/Paga constituency has warned the ruling NPP not to repackage the lies they used during the 2000 elections to again deceive the electorate to win power.

Mr Pele said the NPP campaign massages during the 2000 elections were nothing but lies that made the electorate to vote for them and they have now regretted. He therefore called on Ghanaians to just say "No" to the NPP government this time round.

The MP was addressing a rally at Paga, organized to introduce him formally as the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area and to launch his campaign for the December polls.

Delegates from all the electoral zones attended the rally. Mr Pele said, "The way is through for the NDC and no amount of deceit and intimidation of the minority parties can win the elections for NPP." He appealed to the electorate to come out in their numbers and vote the NPP out of office.

He said the economic hardships under the NPP were so harsh that the government did not know how to convince Ghanaians, than to "package lies on their television advertisements about the NDC regime" and that the elections should be on issues but not attacking political opponents.

Mr. Pele told the NPP not to be deceived by the large crowd pulled in the Asante Region, "because some people attended the rally just to see President Kufuor for the last time before he hands over power in 2005".
