12.12.2015 LISTEN

In what has been described as a rare act of philanthropy, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Akropong constituency Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Agyei has donated 20 street lights, 20 chokes and 20 bulbs to various communities/towns in the Akropong constituency. The presentation was done on her behalf by the NPP constituency organizer for Akropong Emmanuel Appienti.

Although the 20 street lights were a complete set, the need for the extra 20 chokes and 20 bulbs was to help maintain them if they developed faults in future. The gesture according to her was to help improve visibilityduring the night in the community and deter potential criminal activities.

The towns/communities that benefitted from Nana Ama Dokua’s donation included, Saforo, Kwamoso, Yensiso, Kokormu, Mampong-Nkwanta, Addo-Nkwanta and Otwiri.

Although the Akropong constituency seat is considered a safe seat for the NPP, Nana Ama Dokua the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency is not resting on her laurels to ensure the NPP wins maximum votes both in the parliamentary and presidential elections. She has embarked on a number of projects to signal her intent of serving her people selflessly when finally given the nod in the 2016 general elections. The street light distribution project is just one of the many projects she intends to carry out even as she prepares to take “her seat” in parliament.

The street lights which had her poster and that of Nana Akufo Addo the NPP flag bearer pasted on them were presented to some chiefs and assembly men in the above towns/communities. The chief of Yentiso Asafo Atse Pabi whilst commending her for the donation noted that this was a rare act of philanthropy from a parliamentary candidate who is yet to be voted for to occupy the seat. He also remarked that, most parliamentary candidates whilst campaigning make promises to win votes but Nana Dokua has exemplified herself among her contemporaries such that even before she steps a foot in parliament has shown that when given the nod, she will deliver.

Also the assembly man for Kwamorso Asiedu Theophilus whilst receiving the donation also showered praises on the NPP parliamentary candidate and urged her to continue with her good works. He noted that, the presentation was timely as several streets in the community were dark during the evenings because of the lack of street lights.
