When a whole municipality can not boast of no university, a nursing training or teacher training school, not even more than 5 radio stations and a common TV station, trust me then it is in a sinking development state.

The recent economic hardship of the municipality should not be blamed on specific entities, being it the AGA,the government whatsoever. The situation should be channelled on the greedy nature of human, self conscious and selfish nature of the masses. I believe it is time the youth rise to save the situation at hand.

This situation smells the more when the youth, especially the few illiterate ones are psyched with a mindset that only the mining company and small scale mining activities can be their source of income. I would say that is a complete fallacy.

There are several projects obuasi is yet to taste and these will curb the hardship on higher percentage.

On education, it is a shame a whole obuasi municipality can not count a university, nursing and teacher training schools. Even in the second cycle education , obuasi can boast of only three public secondary schools.

Have we taught about the job creation and benefits if these projects are in place? Have we considered how our market men and women, drivers and others could have benefited from these. Trust me it is really a complete shame.

In the multimedia world, obuasi can count only 3 radio station with no television station. With all these at hand, my question is what at all makes Obuasi attractive to outsiders.

Let's forget the old saying that only the gold company is our backbone. It seriously does not work that way in our modern world. There must be other choices aside the mining and Galamsey works.

In my policy analysis yet to be unveiled, I will locate projects that will affect positive change in the economy of Obuasi.

Arise Youth of Obuasi to save Obuasi for that's all we have!!!!!!

God bless Obuasi.
God bless Ghana.
