The General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Dan Botwe, has described as “unfortunate and pathetic” an allegation by Mr. Dan Lartey, the Chairman of the Grand Coalition, that President Kufuor is behind his inability to be the presidential candidate of the Grand Coalition.

He said neither the NPP nor its presidential candidate had anything to do with the formation of the Coalition and the developments in it after the election of Dr. Edward Mahama as its presidential candidate.

According to Mr. Botwe, the NPP believed in multi-party democracy and would not do anything to kill the ambition of any Ghanaian running as a presidential candidate, nor would it destroy any political party.

He, therefore, advised that if there were any problems within the Grand Coalition, it behoves the members to find a lasting solution to them but not to blame President Kufuor for anybody's woes.
