NPP Raid was meant to crash NPP - Mensah Korsah reveals
NOV 24, 2015 LISTEN

New Patriotic Party’s Director of Elections Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah whose office was affected by Monday’s raid at the party's headquarters said the attack was meant to crash the party.

The party’s Asylum down office was ransacked by persons believed to be supporters of the suspended Chairman Paul Afoko.

Computers were tampered with, hard drives were removed and a number of files and documents were lost in the burglary, Mr. Mensah Korsah told Joy News’ Francis Abban.

This however did not stop administrative work at the NPP headquarters because the party had backups, he said.

“Things were removed from the computer…needlessly, it needed have to happen, but we will not crash because of this, we will move on,” he said to prove that the party is not “handicapped”.

He is sure the party is still in a pole position to win the 2016 general elections and “nothing will set us back”.

Meanwhile the police have commenced intensive investigations into the dawn raid. Police personnel were seen Tuesday afternoon still in charge of security at the NPP headquarters.

Also at the headquarters Joy News sighted some members of the party’s council of elders who were there to get first hand information about the security breach and burglary.

Meanwhile suspended chairman of the New Patriotic Party Paul Afoko has dismissed media reports linking him to yesterday’s raid at the party’s headquarters.

Speaking on Multi TV’s AM Show earlier today, his spokesperson Nana Yaw Osei said Mr Afoko is shocked at media reports suggesting he hired people to carry out the raid.

According to him, the latest attempt to link Mr. Afoko to the recent violence in the party is part of grand plot by elements in the NPP and others in the media to taint the embattled chairman's reputation.
