About one week ago, President John Agyekum Kufuor, in consternation arising out of opinion polls conducted by the NPP's own appointed pollster which showed that the President was trailing the NDC's Professor John Evans Atta-Mills, summoned the entire pro-NPP media, the majority of whom were radio presenters of the electronic media, and bared his soul to them, expressing consternation about the possibility of an NPP defeat, and warning them that a defeat would not spell disaster for him and the NPP alone but would engulf all the pro-NPP media personnel therein gathered, confessing for the first time that his Government had committed “criminal atrocities” which they had gotten away with largely because they the media personnel had condoned those atrocities, especially in the area of corruption and “causing financial loss” and warning them that the NDC had compiled a dossier on all the “criminal atrocities” of the NPP and their media collaborators and would likely ensure that all of them or as many of them as possible were sent to jail, and therefore entreated them to do all in their power to ensure that the NDC did not win the December elections, and that this passionate entreaty was followed by actual material inducements running into tens of millions of cedis and thousands of dollars each, but in the process forgot to ensure that the “goodies” went round all the journalists, especially those who were not around, as a result of which some of those who did not benefit felt so peeved and cheated that they decided to spill the beans, as a result of which Yours Truly has gotten this “filla” to do this intelligence enquiry?
