Asamoah Gyan is now Africa’s highest paid footballer, the Ghana captain’s staggering £226,923.07 ($350,000 or GH¢1.429,615.03) a week salary in China placing him just above Ivory Coast captain, Yaya Toure who earns £220,000.00 weekly.

Hailing from a country with so much financial constraints, laiden with a lot of debt, we cannot help but wonder what this amount of money will do for our country.

Below is a list that runs across important sectors of the country- health, education, housing and energy.

1. 160 state-of-the- art ambulances for the National Ambulance Service.

A state of the art ambulance, ranges between GHC420, 000 per unit. The captain of the black stars receives

GHC 1.4 million week and GHC67.3 million a year. This could provide 3 state of the art ambulances for the National Ambulance Service and 160 ambulances a year.

2. 1,680 affordable housing units
Three room affordable housing unit costs, averagely,GHC40,000. Asamoah Gyan’s salary of GHC1.4 million a week will provide 35 housing units a week, 140 a month and 1680 a year.
