Enugu Rangers plan an early afternoon kick-off time next week saturday as they gun for the full points against Asante Kotoko of Ghana in a confederation cup Group A match so as to stay in contention with playing in the final of the inaugural continental competition. The match will kick off at 14h00hours local time and host Rangers hope the hot sun as well as their skills will help them to roast kotoko and topple them from the top of the standings.
kotoko lead Group A with seven points from four matches, a point more than Rangers.The Ghanaians defeated the ;the flying antelopes; 3-1 during the first leg clash.
Victory for Enugu club on saturday will set up a final group clash against bottom team Petro Athletico in Angola next month with Rangers then probably needing a draw to feature in the cup final.
However,Rangers game plan suffered a hitch on Thursday when a heavy down pour prevented the team from completing their training inside the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
Players and coaches led by technical adviser ,Lawrence Akpokona had come out to train under the scotching sun but were disappointed when the rains brought the training to an abrupt end.
Akpokona told news men ;This is a very disturbing thing. But who am i to question nature. It only disturbed our trainig for a day but we are still on course to do the nation proud come Saturday;
