Technical hitches affect exhibition of voters register

Listen to article

Ho, Oct. 13, GNA - Mr. Robert Atamah, Ho District Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), said on Wednesday that the omission of a sizeable number of names in the Provisional Voters' Register on exhibition at few centres in the Ho District was due to technical hitches.

He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the wide disparity in the number of registered voters in register and the actual number that registered at the Museums and Monuments Board Centre. Ms Paulina Dosu, Exhibition Officer at the Centre had told the GNA that out of the 435 fully registered voters' only 191 names appeared on the list.

Mr Atamah said efforts were being made to address the problem, which had also affected the Tsyome-Afedo Centre. Mr Ben Tsey, Exhibition Officer at Doris Day Premises - Bankoe Centre, suggested the need for the EC, to step up public education on the exhibition to encourage patronage.
