Accra, Sept. 23, GNA - Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, Chairman of the National Peace Council has commended the Tiger Eye PI team for their efforts in exposing the highest form of corruption in the country.
He said the attempt by the team, although risky, has yielded positive results in the interest of the nation and would provide a vivid picture of what goes in and around the third arm of government.
Speaking as the Chairman for the premiering of Anas Aremeyaw Anas's documentary, titled 'Ghana in the eyes of God; An epic of injustice' Rev Asante said the video was not to point fingers at judges, but to face the reality of corruption.
He said the lack of confidence in the judiciary makes people put the law into their own hands, and Anas and his team have brought Ghanaians together to witness this social problem.
Rev. Asante said 'as a country we need to be prepared to eliminate corruption and greedy business. If we don't take steps to eradicate corruption, we would never develop as a nation.'
He noted that, the documentary involved high profile judges, prosecutors, investigators and judicial officials, adding that, all those who involved in the act should bow down their heads in shame.
The chairman of the National Peace Council however noted that, the few judges, who refused to take the bribes and actually threatened to cause the arrest of the team, represented hope for the future, indicating that all was not lost.
He called on the Judicial Council to expedite action and deal with those found culpable in the video in order to deter others from committing similar offences.
