New permanent representative of Niger presents credentials to director-general of United Nations Office at Geneva

Fatima Sidikou, the new Permanent Representative of Niger to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Sidikou had been serving as First Counsellor at the Embassy of Niger in Washington, United States since 2012; she also served there from 2002 to 2005, first as First Counsellor and then as Chargée d'Affaires. She was Niger's Deputy Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Paris, France from 2007 to 2012. She was a Counsellor at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and African Integration from 1998 to 2000 and from 1995 to 1997, and was based in Cotonou, Benin from 1997 to 1998. She joined the Ministry in 1983. Ms. Sidikou has a Master in Business Administration from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, United States (1995); a post graduate degree from the Université de Paris III, Sorbonne Novelle, France (1983), and other degrees relating to Foreign Languages Applied to Trade and Business. While in Geneva, Ms. Sidikou will also be serving concurrently as Niger's Ambassador to Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein.
