Barcamp Cape Coast 2015 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of discussion, demos and dialogue on Cape Coast, Ghana and beyond. It will take place on September 12, 2015 at the Faculty of Education Lecture Theatre 9 at the University of Cape Coast.

The theme for this year is Equipping the youth to plan their future today. This event will be the 5th BarCamp in Cape Coast as it builds a network of young change makers, doers and entrepreneurs in Ghana. The GhanaThink Foundation has successfully organized 47 BarCamps in Ghana.

This forum will focus on information sharing to enable participants plan their future better. Time-tested teachings along with transcendent trends will be highlighted and discussed in order to help set the paths of youth right. Cape Coast has been the cradle of education in Ghana. Barcamp Cape Coast will bring together various stakeholders in the region.

The Lead of the Barcamp Cape Coast Team Mark Valentine Aikins, says this year’s Barcamp Cape Coast would offer the youth insights on how to create the future they want to have. He also added that he expects the participants to be equipped with the necessary tools to effect the change they want to experience in the future.

The Barcamp will feature multiple user-generated breakout sessions about business, social entrepreneurship, technology and development, alongside topics relevant to the Central Region and beyond. There will be a speed mentoring session where mentors will give insights and answers to questions from attendees.

Confirmed mentors for this year’s Barcamp Cape Coast includes Benedict Entsi Williams (Agrobusiness), Ekow Simpson (cape360gh), George Nii Tackie (Business Lecturer), Kojo Brace (ATL FM Journalist), Felix Osei (Talent Microfinance), Sarah Fosu (Woman for Girl Initiative), amongst many other esteemed mentors.
