From June 4, 1979 to September 24, 1979, Ghana was ruled by the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC).

Under their regime, a ‘House cleaning’ exercise against corruption was started and should that exercise be repeated today, their first culprit to execute by firing squad would be Johnson Aseidu Nketia, General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This was an assertion made by George Boateng, an NDC member hoping to unseat President Mahama in the upcoming presidential elections.

Mr.Boateng has made it clear that the current leaders in the NDC have clothed the party in corruption and remains the party's only hope to cleanse them from this illegality.

But his several attempts to get into the presidential race have been thwarted by Aseidu Nketia, a man he believes would have been arrested and shot by firing squad.

'Aseidu Nketia is a thief. He hasn't done anything meaningful in life but visit Oyarifa and you would see the mansion he has built there. If we were still living in the revolution days, he would have been arrested and shot dead', the NDC's presidential aspirant said.

Speaking on Peace FM's Evening News, Mr. George Boateng revealed some of the illicit trades Mr. Aseidu Nketia engaged in to make 'dirty' money.

According to him, before any District Chief Executive received an appointment under the current NDC regime, Aseidu Nketia takes money from them before the appointment is made.

'He is from a very poor home and because he has made so much money today, he has forgotten where he comes from. He owes plantation farms and considers himself a human being now. If I hadn't known him when he started life, I would not be saying all this. He used to come to Rawlings house to beg for food,' he said.
