Otumfuo Education Fund is to assist in improvement of education

Atlanta, Georgia, Oct. 5, GNA - The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has reiterated that his Educational Fund was born to assist in the improvement of education and accelerate the development of the country and Asanteman.

The Fund was to contribute to national efforts towards poverty alleviation and its eradication to help to transform the lives of the people, he said at a dinner for influential Atlanta citizens and Ghanaians resident in Atlanta and parts of the USA.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said he was convinced that education was the only way forward because he had tried and tested it.

"I will love to share this with all and sundry; there is nothing more priceless than sharing your success story with your countrymen and women because this will get us better unified and stronger in our quest to stabilize the economy of our country.

"Education is the pivot of every dynamic nation; it is the best ingredient to national cohesion and development and enhances literacy, hence in a couple of years the fund will exhibit its worth to all and sundry."

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said education was the pathfinder of a nation's roadmap to success.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said educational institutions in Ghana had continued to produce people of unquestionable repute and it had become imperative and necessary that private sector supported the Government because it could not continue to fund education alone.

He said for this reason, he would continue to look for assistance and investment from well meaning people from any part of the globe because the quest for better education in Ghana was dear to him. He appealed to Ghanaians at home and abroad, sympathizers and well-meaning people to support the aim and aspirations of the Fund.
