Tarkwa (W/R), Sept. 3, GNA - Francis Owusu Agyekum, 44, has been fined GH¢ 1,200.00 for careless and inconsiderate driving by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.

He pleaded guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the Court, presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante that on August 5, at about 2110 hours, the convict was driving a Mercedes Sprinter bus from Tarkwa heading towards Takoradi.

She said on reaching the Bankyim new road, he ignored traffic regulations and suddenly made a u-turn right in the middle of the road.

Chief Inspector Tawiah said Owusu Robinson, who was by then driving a Nissan Pathfinder from the same direction, drove into the accused person and both vehicles veered off the road into a near-by shop.

She said the convict and a passenger on board sustained injuries and they were sent to a clinic where they were treated and discharged.

Inspector Tawiah said assorted items worth GH¢ 8,486.50 were also damaged as a result of the accident.
