Ho, Sept. 02, GNA - Major General Henry Anyidoho (Rtd) has urged professionals in the Asogli State to form networks purposely to engineer change in the traditional area.

He asked them to break the tyranny and bondage of underdevelopment the way their ancestors united and broke Agorkoli's fortress of tyranny and bondage.

Maj. Gen. Anyidoho said this at the 2015 Asogli Yam Festival Inaugural Lecture on the theme, 'All hands on Deck…Harnessing the Full Potential of Asogli State for Accelerated Development.'

He said the Volta Region was endowed with professionals who must desist from blaming governments for the underdevelopment of the area and join forces to enhance the socio-economic development of the Asogli State and the Volta Region.

Major Gen. Anyidoho lamented over the way some indigenous people were prioritizing their personal wellbeing over that of others, saying, it was pathetic.

He said until the people united for the good of the State, socio-economic development would elude them.

He said litigation remained a major setback to the Asogli State and the Volta Region and urged the people to resolve issues in the traditional way other than the law court, which promoted hatred.

Maj. Gen. Anyidoho asked the natives to live examined lives and show interest in the little things that mattered, such as keeping their surroundings clean.
