Kumasi, Sept 01, GNA - A group, calling itself the Concerned Farmers Association Ghana (CFAG) has called for forensic audit of cash and equipment donated by individuals and corporate bodies towards last year's National Farmers' Day celebration.

A press statement signed by Nana Oboadie Opambour Boateng Bonsu, its President, said organizers of the event must be made to account for every gift received on behalf of the Ghanaian farmer.

It threatened that the Association would be forced to lead a boycott of this year's celebration, should the government ignore its demand.

The statement said farmers would no longer be taken for granted and shortchanged by anybody.

The situation where cash, farming tools and equipment, electronic gadgets and other materials meant for them are diverted by officials would not be accepted.

It added that the Association would continue to insist that the farmer was given whatever was due them.
