Two people were burnt to death and two others seriously injured when a Nissan Premium Saloon car with registration number AW 489-W had head-long collusion with a timber truck last Saturday at Ohia nhye da a village near Wioso in the Ahafo- Ano South district in Ashanti region

The deceased, both males were the driver of the saloon car together with the one who was at the front seat. Some people forced the back door of the saloon car and succeeded in taken away the two females at the back seat to Mankranso hospital.

The driver of the timber truck escaped unhurt and tried to free from the scene of the accident but he was apprehended by the people around and later on handed to the police.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known but an eye witness said the driver of the saloon car who was travelling from Kumasi tried to over-take another vehicle when he met the loaded timber truck which was heading towards Kumasi

He said the two vehicles entangled each other and the timber truck stamped on the saloon car, pushed it for about 10 meters away before smoke started coming from the saloon car and a sudden explosion resulting to fire which engulfed the two vehicles.

For more than two hours, there was no vehicular movement and hundreds of travelers who happened to be at the scene, disembarked from their vehicles and stood helplessly as the two vehicles were set on fire in the middle of the road.

It took the combined Fire Service personnel and the police more than two hours before controlling the fire and remove the remains of the disfigured bodies of the deceased
