Electrician fined for stealing.

By GNA

Tema, Sept 22, GNA -- The Tema Circuit Court 'A' has imposed a fine of 15 million cedis on an electrician from Teshie who stole items valued at 73 million cedis from a worker's room at the Sakumono Estates. Nicholas Nortey used a duplicate key to enter the room of the worker.

He would serve a 10-year prison term if he failed to pay the fine. Nortey is already serving a three-year jail term for unlawful entry. The facts of the case as narrated to the court by Police Inspector Adolophus Otchere were that in December last year the complainant sought the assistance of the accused person to clean his flooded house. Inspector Otchere said on February 9 the complainant returned from work and found it difficult to open his door with his key. He forced the door open and realised that his CD player, Amplifier two speakers were missing.

He suspected the accused and led police to his house at Teshie where some of the stolen items were found. 22 Sept 04
