Staged Manage Assassination Of President Mahama - Nana Asem Bi Nti

Feature Article Staged Manage Assassination Of President Mahama - Nana Asem Bi Nti
WED, 29 JUL 2015 6

A 36-year-old Charles Antwi who comes from Dadieso in Brong Ahafo near the home town of Mahama's wife was arrested on sunday at Ringway Assemblies of God Church at Accra. President John Mahama and other top officials worship with this church.

It was alleged Charles Antwi was carrying a gun loaded with bullets to assassinate the president. He was arrested by the national security on Sunday during church service and was arranged before Accra high court.

Charles Antwi confesses that he went to the church with a gun in a deliberate attempt to kill the president.

HIS REASONS
*He stated emphatically that, he was the right person to have succeeded late President Mills after his demise after they conspired to eliminate late Prof Mills.

* He wanted to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship.

*He again mentioned that , President Mahama and his govt are making things difficult for Ghanaians and the power situation ( Dumsor) is unbearable.

JUDGMENT ( GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY?)
He has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
He was sentenced on his own plea. He pleaded guilty to the charges proffered against him. The sentence is the maximum in that category. In his confession, he indicated going into the church with the aim or killing the president His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

Those who might want to understand the swiftness of the case, he opted to defend himself in court.

As in the Nayele's case, a suspect who pleads guilty on any charge gets an immediate sentence without need for trial any longer.

Remember, the purpose for the trial would have been to establish his guilt or otherwise and so if at the initial stages guilt was established, it cuts the process short.

QUESTIONS I WANT TO ASK
(1)Even if it was true , who benefits ? When Mills died who became the president? so the NDC should look within.

(2) why early judgement when enough investigation has not been done.

(3) This sounds to me like the case of lunacy. What happened in the case of the man who drove into Kufuor's convoy?

In this case the President was not even present when he was arrested.

(4) How can it be attempting murder when the president is absent?

Anyways the lawyers can educate us.
