Viasat1 Broadcasting G. Limited is set to thrill fans and viewers with exciting new programming, starting July. This was announced on Friday, June 25, at a quarterly media bar organised by the TV station to interact with clients and media buying companies.
The guests included media executives from Mediacom, Scanad Ghana, Ogilvy, PHD, Abii-Nation, Carat, Tigo, Telemedia, Mediamart, and MediaReach OMD.
In her welcome address, CEO of Viasat1, Laetitia Royaards engaged clients with a list of upcoming programmes to the guests. She expressed her excitement ahead of the new shows, and encouraged the clients to take advantage of them.
Speaking on the new programme acquisitions, Programmes Manager of Viasat1, Anthony Mintah Jr. said “we have been listening to our viewers and clients over the years, and we are therefore rolling out these programmes to meet their expectation.” Among the new programmes to expect is the award-winning American drama series, Empire. It centres on a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founder’s family as they fight for control of the company.
As a means to attract more youth to the channel, Viasat1 has created new music slots to entertain viewers with programmes such as Muse, WatsUp TV, Xtra Playlists and My Base.
A list of new talk shows geared towards satisfying the target demographics will also roll out this month. Israel Laryea and Anita Erskine will present a new lifestyle talk show, Discovery +233, with live studio audience. Talk 233 LIVE with Bernard Avle, Just the Law with Naa Ashorkor, and Tonight Show, will also premiere this month.
Joselyn Dumas, Nikki Samonas, Christabel Ekeh and Jasmine Baroudi, will star in V-Republic, a new drama series from Sparrow Productions, which premieres July 2, at 9:30pm. It will air at the same time every Thursday.
Veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio returns with a new season of local drama series, Jamestown Fisherman, while ‘Mama Taxi’ and ‘Butterfly effect’ make their debut on the channel. Other new programmes announced to premiere this month are Ghana’s Finest Hairstylist and The Simpsons.
Meanwhile, Viasat1 has given away a 50-inch Hisense LED TV set to Mr. Gabriel Amemetro of Scanad Ghana, after he emerged the lucky winner of a draw. Receiving the prize, Mr Amemetro thanked Viasat1 for the kind gesture.
