By GYE NYAME CONCORD

THE POLITICAL HOTBED of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Ashaiman constituency and its environ would go gay amidst pomp and pageantry as the party's top gurus in the constituency have feverishly prepared to welcome their flagbearer professor Atta Mill in Ashiaman today .

The NDC Constituency Chairman for Ashaiman, Alhaji Issifu Akakarde, reveals that they are building up their campaign to prepare the grounds for NDC's victory in Ashaiman.

He therefore passionately called on members of the other opposition parties to come out in their numbers to listen the message of Mills.

Akakarde made this remark Friday at a meeting organised by the party in preparation of Mills' visit to Ashaiman today.

According to Alhaji Issifu, Mills is coming to meet and talk to everybody, including market women, chiefs and politicians because he is the “people's man”.

He advised all NDC supporters and sympathizers to be circumspect in their support because Mills is a “crowd puller” and that if everybody wants to shake hands with him, he would not finish the rally on time as planned.

The NDC aspirant for Ashaiman, Mr Alfred Agbeshie, threw more light on what Alhaji Issifu said and asked all constituency executives to organise massive support for their flagbearer.

He also made it known that Mills would be addressing gatherings at the Tema High School, VALCO Flats Market, the night market and the Tema main market, the party's office and eventually the Mandela Park, which also happens to be the venue for the rally.

Mr. Sufferman Daniels, a constituency executive member, was of the view that the NDC is certainly going to win both the parliamentary and the presidential votes in Ashaiman. “It is obvious that we are going to win and it gives me great joy that the Professor is coming to visit us, so we are feverishly preparing for his arrival”, he said.
