Sunyani, Sept. 6 GNA - Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister at the weekend called on Ghanaians to reject politicians whose messages are pregnant with violence.

He said, "We need to sustain the relative peace and stability that our country is enjoying in the sub-region and we don't have to entertain pronouncements that are not tailored for the benefit of our development".

The Regional Minister was addressing the congregation at a farewell and thanksgiving service held in honour of the Reverend Dr and Mrs. Kwame Amoah- Kuma, the out-going Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church in Brong Ahafo.

Rev Dr Amoah-Kuma has served in the region for the past five years and is bound for posting to serve the Church in the United States of America. Nana Seinti advised Christians to be resolute and courageous in their undertakings so that they would not be swayed in the pursuit of their socio-economic goals by "wayward" politicians.

He commended the out-going Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson for his courage and forthright personality and urged members of the Church to emulate him so that, "with God on our side, we will be able to achieve targets we have set for ourselves."

Rev. Dr Amoah-Kuma urged members of the Church to remain committed to their work and let the teachings of God reflect in their daily lives.

"We must strive to achieve these things both in the Church and in society", he said and urged them to fast and pray, confess their sins and rededicate themselves to God and use the gifts and talents to serve Him and humanity.

The out-going Presbytery Chairperson exhorted Ghanaians to support the nation's development efforts, saying that he looked for the day when, "the prosperity of nations and organisations would not be judged by their military or economic strength but the well-being of the people." Among those present were representatives of various churches, chiefs including Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri 11, Omanhene of Sunyani Traditional Area and well-wishers.
