The Member of Parliament for the Nsuta-Kwamang constituency, Hon. Osei Prempeh has asked Ghanaians to treat with contempt, promises of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a party he described as having outlived its usefulness and therefore bound to fail if given the mandate to govern.

Hon. Osei Prempeh made the call in his victory address, when he got the nod to contest the Parliamentary Elections for the time running, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party at his constituency.

The MP, who is a lawyer by profession, observed that though the flag bearer of NDC, Professor Atta Mills is a good lawyer, who even thought him (Osei Prempeh) at the Law School, his brilliance has not shown in politics. He described Mills as a political failure and a disaster, who must be told so with no apologies or reservations. Atta Mills, he said lacks a sense of direction to lead NDC to win the elections, and questioned how he could lead a whole country.

Hon. Osei Prempeh said that the numerous defections from the NDC to the NPP, is the manifestation of the ever increasing support and goodwill his party enjoys in the country.

In a related event, a 47 year old Patricia Appeagyei alias Mama Pat was elected by popular acclamation, to contest for the newly created Asawase constituency on the ticket of the NPP.

In her acceptance address, Madam Patricia Appeagyei thanked the delegates for the honour and confidence reposed in her and told supporters that by her victory they should put on the full armour to the battle field with the view to beating the NDC in the 2004 elections. “You must embrace all the political divide and show maturity in soliciting for votes to ensure total victory for NPP, come December 7, she concluded.
