Hohoe District falls below revenue target

Hohoe, Aug 28, GNA - The Hohoe District Assembly has generated 685 million cedis out of a half-year projection of 734 million cedis. Mr James Komla Dogbe, the Hohoe District Chief Executive, said at second ordinary meeting of the assembly on Friday that the projected revenue for the half-year for rates stood at 307.7 million cedis and 172 million cedis for rents.

He said the district's cumulative actual recurrent expenditure went up to 1.298 billion cedis, exceeding the projected 1.039 billion cedis. Mr Dogbe appealed to the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee to work extra hard in revenue generation and expenditure control to enable the assembly achieve its development aspirations.

He said the assembly received 853.9 million cedis out of its annual allocation of 4.039 billion cedis from the District Assemblies Common Fund and this is the first quarter allocation for the year.

Mr Dogbe said 750 million cedis were received from the HIPC fund to provide facilities in education, health, water and sanitation. The assembly benefited from a 140-million cedi GETFund facility to provide furniture in basic schools in Leklebi-Fiafe, Logba-Alakpeti, Likpe-Mate and.

The DCE said a committee has been inaugurated to work out the modalities for the establishment of the Hohoe District Cassava Chips Factory under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiative through the Rural Enterprise Development Programme.
