Accra, Aug. 27, GNA- The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the EGLE Party on Friday threw its weight behind Prof. John Atta Mills, Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the December election.

"The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the EGLE Party unflinchingly and overwhelmingly supports Prof. John Evans Atta Mills... in the forthcoming Presidential elections," a statement signed by Mr Ebenezer Nartey, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the Party, said.

The statement said the Regional Branch of the Party was reaffirming its stance in the Progressive Alliance with the NDC.

"Hence a vigorous and tireless campaign will be mounted for a resounding victory in the December 2004 general election," the statement said.

The regional branch urged all "progressive forces" sympathisers and well-wishers to join in the campaign to vote Prof. Mills into power. It called on the public to examine "the economic hardships inflicted on them by the NPP Administration to take a collective decision to vote it out".

It said: "It is quite obvious that the NDC, having been both in government and in opposition, has learnt a lot of lessons in the effective management of the affairs of state and gained the requisite experience to make life better for Ghanaians when voted back into power."
