Winneba (C/R) Aug, 19 GNA- The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service(GES), on Wednesday presented school uniforms and learning materials to 50 brilliant but needy students.
The British Department For International Development, sponsored the presentation that went to 28 boys and 22 girls. Mr Swanzy Essien, District Director of Education, asked parents to invest in the education of their children instead of spending money on social issues like funerals.
He also cautioned against the assault of teachers by some aggrieved parents. An Assistant Director of Education, Mr Kow Ayamful appealed to chiefs in the District to establish education endowment funds. 19 Aug.04
