Attoh Quarshie leads Mortien boxing league

Accra, Aug 18, GNA - After five nights of action, Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club leads the standings in the second segment of the Mortein Boxing League with five wins from five outings.

The leaders are on 16 points, having amassed 12 points from four unanimous points' victories and four from the only knockout to their advantage.

With three wins from five fights all by way of knockout, Believers Boxing Club is second on 12 points as they had lost their other two fights.

Perched at the third position on 10 points is Fit Square Boxing Club, which won three fights from five, two by unanimous points' verdicts and one by way of knockout.

Sagacious and Panix clubs are tied on nine points for the fourth position after winning three fights from five. Sagacious had all their wins through unanimous points' decisions, while Panix had two knockouts and one points' victory.

Next on the ladder is Bukom Boxing Club at the sixth position on eight points gained from two wins and a draw, with one of the wins coming by way of knockout.

Seventh is Wisdom Boxing Club on seven points as a result of their two wins from five outings, classified in points' victories and a draw. Black Panthers are eighth, having won two of their five fights both by advantageous decisions to put their points haul at six.

Akotoku Academy won only one fight out of five via a decision to collect three points and remain at the ninth spot on the standings while Will Power is at the bottom of the table with one point gained from a draw.

By the rules of the league, a knockout attracts four points, a unanimous decision three points, a split verdict two pints and a draw one point.
