Akim Oda (E/R), April 16, GNA - Madam Comfort Frimpong, the President of the Birim Central Municipal Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA), has appealed to parents to send their children to recognized patrons in GHABA for their apprenticeship.

Madam Frimpong made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Akim Oda, saying such training would to enable them to acquire recognized certificates after their training.

She said the certificate offered by the Association was under the mandate of the National Vocational and Technical Institute (NVTI) and this would ensure jobs for their wards in the formal sector.

She said the Association also provided financial support for members besides the usual refresher courses organised for members to update their skills.

Ms Frimpong said skills training for young ladies was another way of empowering women and urged parents to give such options a careful consideration.
