Winneba-Junction, April 5, GNA - Management of the Winneba-Junction branch of the Akyempim Rural Bank Limited, has initiated a long-term educational campaign, aimed at inculcating the habit of savings in the people.

Targeted groups include petty and big time traders, taxi drivers, public servants, artisans, farmers and fishermen.

Madam Naana Acquah, the Manager of the branch, disclosed this when she addressed traders at Winneba-Junction.

She said to strengthen the initiative, the branch had already trained 'SUSU' collection field staff to educate, on one-on-one basis, and register interested customers.

She said Akymepim Rural Bank which started operations over 30 years ago, was determined more than ever, to assist people within its catchment area, to realize their socio-economic potentials, particularly child education, trading and other business endeavours.

Madam Naana Acquah told the traders, mostly women, that, savings is the 'master key' to attain individual economic freedom, and continuous financial progress.

She advised traders in the area, especially those who have a stake in the operations of   Akyempim Rural Bank, to be fully guided by prudent economic choices at all times.

She cautioned them of the negative effects on their businesses when they misapply loans on funeral expenses.

Rather, she said, they should invest more in their children's education.

The branch manager assured both old and prospective customers of excellent customer service,   while acknowledging the fact that the general economic   challenges in the country as a whole,   are having a toll on the bank's ability to grant bigger amount of loans for longer periods. GNA
