Accra, Aug 10, GNA - The Confederations of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) has fixed the Africa Volleyball Youth Championship for Kenya following the withdrawal of South Africa.
The tournament was originally scheduled for South Africa in November, 2004 but the Confederation in a fax message to the Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) last week confirmed the change of venue. According to Mr Erasmus Adorkor, General Secretary of the GVA, the CAVB did not give the association reasons for the change of venue, but stated that it might be as a result of the inadequate preparations on the part of the South Africans.
The Ghanaian team is currently in camp preparing for the competition. The team started its preparation for the competition early this week alongside their seniors who are also preparing for an eliminator in Sudan later in the year.
