Takoradi, March 25, GNA - The Takoradi branch of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday elected new executives with Mr. Charles Thompson as the Chairman.
The other executives are Mr. Charles Animi, first vice chairman, Nana Ama, second vice chairperson, Miss Mina Bart-Plange, secretary, Miss Alexandra Assan-Ocran, assistant secretary, Miss Rita Kyeremeh, first trustee and Mr. Emmanuel Tay, second trustee.
Speaking after the swearing-in, Mr. Thompson urged local branches of the union to initiate welfare schemes for their members.
He said the union would hold regular quarterly meetings to educate the members on trade unionism and other issues and appealed to the members to patronize the meetings to get informed.
Mr. Thompson thanked the members for having confidence in the executives and promised to deliver to overcome challenges facing the union and workers.
