Juaso (Ash), Aug 10, GNA - The Juaso Circuit Court has imposed a fine of 150,000 cedis on a 39-old trader from Dampong who failed to pay a tax of 5,000 cedis been demanded by the Asante-Akim South District on foodstuffs she was going to sell.
Nana Kowaah pleaded guilty and will go to jail for 30 days in default. The Court ordered that the fine should be paid to the District Assembly.
Prosecuting, Mr Dickson Lartey, told the Court that on July 13 revenue collectors of the Assembly demanded the tax on foodstuff the accused was transporting to Accra to sell but she refused to pay, leading to her arrest.
