Nii Adjetey Kraku III, the Tema Mantse, has commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his good concept of funding education in Asanteman and the country in general, which has been highly acclaimed worldwide.
He urged Ga chiefs, especially sub-chiefs in Tema, to unite and emulate the effective manner Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has brought respect to his subjects and stop being jealous of him.
According to him Ga chiefs can also seek the welfare of their people, but only when they are united and with a common objective to forge ahead, instead of litigating over land and chieftaincy affairs.
Nii Adjetey was speaking at a press conference in Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
He said if certain Ga Dangme intellectuals will only cheat their people, squander the little resource of the whole community and try to forment division so that they will not be called upon to account for their misdeeds as the people will be litigating day and night, personalities such as the Otumfuo will use their time wisely to develop their communities and assist their people to forge ahead in life.
“How can scholarships meant for Tema citizens be sold to other tribesmen and expect Tema to develop? How can royalties meant for the development of Tema be squandered by a few royals and expect the citizens to develop?” He asked, adding “no one should be jealous of the Asantehene. I will never be jealous of his efforts but would rather follow his steps”.
