Accra, Aug. 3, GNA- The Management of Ghana Airways has arranged for a special flight to New York on Wednesday August 4, this year, for returning passengers who got stranded on its flights GH 120 and GH 150 last week. A statement by the management of the Airways issued on Tuesday said the check-in and departure times would be 0800 hours and 1545 hours respectively. It said passengers were entitled to two pieces of luggage each with a maximum weight of 32 kilograms. No excess luggage would be permitted. The management said as part of arrangements put in to ensure smooth check-ins, the number of available check-in counters would be doubled and special ones, be dedicated to tour groups. It said the returning passengers would be processed before any others would be considered. They were therefore to take note and keep to the arrangements, the statement said. "Departure details for the flight to Baltimore on Friday August 6, 2004 would also be announced in due course," Management said. It said Ghana Airways apologises for any inconvenience these disruptions in service have caused its cherished passengers. Last week hundreds of passengers scheduled to board the flights from the United States to Ghana became stranded following the US Aviation authorities decision to suspend the flights on safety grounds. As a result, passengers flying to the US from Accra also became stranded.
