Kama joins group of donors for Ghana's Olympic team

Accra, July 29, GNA - KAMA Group of Companies, a pharmaceutical company in Accra, on Thursday, donated 50 million cedis to the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) in support of the Nation's contingent for the Olympic games scheduled for Athens, Greece, next month. The donation includes mineral water, Omega oil family liniment, painkillers and 'T' Shirts worth 30 million cedis and a cheque for 20 million cedis.

Mr Mike Agyekum-Addo, Chief Executive of KAMA said it is now about time for the company to shift its attention to the development and promotion of sports in the country after achieving so much in the co-operate world.

The Chief Executive said the company's entry into the sports world would however be in a gradual process.

He said the gesture also forms part of its social responsibilities and it would continue to support the programmes of the GOC in bringing up quality sports men and women for the nation.

Mr Benson Tongo Baba, President of the GOC expressed appreciation to the company for coming to their aid in order to promote sports in the country.

He said the items are coming at the right time since the team will need good medication to perform at the event.

According to Mr Baba the items will also boost the performance of the Ghanaian athletes at the Games to enable them bring home the much-needed gold medals. 29 July 04
