Berekum, July 22, GNA - Mr Kofi Adomah, Brong Ahafo Regional Director of National Commission on Civic Education, said on Wednesday that the outcome of the December elections would depend largely on the level of consciousness among the people about constitutional provisions.

Speaking at a day's forum on political tolerance organized by the

Commission, he advised leaders of political parties to avoid unhealthy political debates and other negative practices and rather educate their members about the Constitution.

In attendance were representatives of security agencies, political parties, opinion leaders and other identifiable stakeholders. The Regional Director appealed to the youth and politicians to appreciate civil and political rights of others and guard against dirty politicking that could endanger the peace.

Mr Kwabena Kyere Yeboah, Berekum District Chief Executive, called on the media to be circumspect in their reportage to ensure that, they did not inflame passions.

He appealed to the media to expand the contours of civic education on democracy, adding that much depended on the media to enable the country to go through peaceful elections.
