KWESI PRATT PICKS PAN-AFRICANISM AWARD

The Managing Editor of The Insight Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr has been awarded the Pan-African Distinguished Achievers Award (PADAA) for his unrelenting efforts in the promotion of the African liberation struggle.

Mr Kwesi Pratt was presented with a certificate, a medal and a plaque with a citation recognizing his unambiguous stance against any form of neo-colonial tendencies and imperialism on the people and resources of Africa.

The 3rd PADAA awards ceremony held in Accra was organized by Independent African Journalists and Broadcasters awarded Kwesi Pratt and other 23 African distinguished personalities including the Nigerian Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Moro for their commitment and selfless efforts towards the promotion of Pan-Africanism, good governance and leadership, unity, peace and development, Patriotism and nationalism in making the African continent a better place.

The rest of the awards category recognized efforts of Africans mostly from Ghana and Nigeria for the promotion of education development in Africa, youth and women empowerment in Africa, entertainment and culture promotion through movies and philantropism for the sake of Africa`s future.

Other winners of the PADAA includes Prince Emmanuel Okeson, CEO of City Light Ltd,Ghana and the Chief of Nungua, Dzaastse Nii Botwe Laryea II among others.

Receiving the award, Mr Pratt stated unreservedly that the people of Africa are not Africans by mistake. He said Africans are humans as any other human being elsewhere in the world.

Mr Pratt bemoaned the incessant travels by African leaders across the globe in search of non-existent solutions to the continents challenges.

According to him, the solution to Africa`s problems laid herein Africa and urged African leaders to begin to look inwards and believe in the Africans for the answers to the African problem.

Africans he said will continue to speak and fight for themselves no matter how many are killed by the imperialist forces.

The Nigerian Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Moro paid glowing tribute to Kwame Nkrumah and the liberation fighters for impacting generations and urged the people of Africa to live indelible marks on the sands of life.

Comrade Moro indicated that, a united Africa is a threat to the West and called for unity among the people of Africa in finding solutions to the problems confronting the continent locally.

``Unless we confront our destiny frontally, we would be consume by history'' he warned.

He commended the Independent African Journalists and Broadcasters for going beyond politics and putting together the awards.

Mr Boniface Abraham, chairman of the awards committee said PADAA is committed towards celebrating Pan-African Achievers who have imbibe virtues of creativity, innovation and selflessness in service towards the development of the continent.
