Wa, July 6, GNA - The Sissala Constituency Executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said it had not entered into electoral alliance with the People's National Convention (PNC) and would, therefore, put up Parliamentary Candidates in the Sissala East and Sissala West Constituencies for Election 2004.

A statement issued by Mallam Imoru Karim, Constituency Organiser, in Wa on Tuesday, said nominations for the two Constituencies were put on hold due to directives from the National Executives of the NPP. The statement said since Mr Moses Dani Baah, Deputy Minister of Health and PNC Member of Parliament for Sissala Constituency, had declared his intension to contest the newly created Sissala East Constituency on behalf of the PNC, the Constituency Executive had no other choice than to request the Regional Executive of the NPP, to clear the way for nominations in the two Constituencies.

It said the creation of a new District for the area; Government's impressive performance for poverty reduction and other development projects had enhanced the electoral chances of the NPP in the two constituencies.
